There’s good news for couples struggling with fertility issues. A new study has found that a new, cheap IVF treatment is just as effective as the current, expensive standard.
The study, published in the journal The Lancet, compared the two IVF treatments in a group of 667 women. All of the women in the study were between the ages of 18 and 40, and had been trying to conceive for three years or less.
The new, cheap IVF treatment used a lower dose of the hormone FSH, or follicle stimulating hormone. This hormone is used to stimulate the ovaries to produce eggs. The current, expensive standard IVF treatment uses a higher dose of FSH.
The researchers found that the two treatments were equally effective. The live birth rate was 38% for the cheap IVF treatment and 39% for the expensive standard IVF treatment.
This is great news for couples struggling with fertility issues. The current, expensive standard IVF treatment can cost upwards of $12,000. The new, cheap IVF treatment costs less than $2,000.
This study provides hope that the new, cheap IVF treatment will be just as effective as the current, expensive standard. This treatment could help many couples struggling with fertility issues conceive a child.
